We highly recommend that you change your currency to Malaysian currency at your home country. However, if that is not possible, there are money changers at Malaysian airports at airport exchange rates.

The weather in Malaysia is very hot. The average temperatures are between 22°C and 31°C. It is advisable to drink water regularly. The precipitation is also high and rainfall is expected.  If you are keen on staying dry, it will be useful to use an umbrella. It will be humid during this time of the year as well. We highly recommend that you review the 14 day weather forecast for Malaysia before you arrive.

What to Bring

These are some suggestion of main essentials to pack before you leave the house: 

  • Passport

  • Phone charger / portable phone charger

  • Ringgit Malaysia / Your own currency

  • EU adapters; For Malaysia the associated plug type is G, which is the plug that has three rectangular pins in a triangular pattern. Malaysia operates on a 240V supply voltage and 50Hz.

  • Flip flops (for the hostel bathrooms and the beach)

  • Water bottle

  • Socks

  • Clothes for 7 days

  • Jacket

  • One set of traditional costumes

  • Towel

  • Toiletries

  • Sunscreen

  • Personal medications

  • Journal, Bible, pens

  • Earphones / Earbuds

  • Any paperwork you may need

  • Souvenirs for your small group members (7)
